Merry Christmas Charlie Thrasher
Charlie was born at 24 weeks and weighed 770 grams (~1.7 lbs.) For reference, this is about the same weight as 3½ cups of tofu. As of December 16, she is 3 months old and weighs 2577 grams (5.68 lbs.) She gains about an ounce per day.
Armed with the awesome staff at Kaiser Walnut Creek, generous people like her Grandma and the thankless others that donated blood, prayer, and positive energy, Charlie challenged statistical data and a pessimistic notion of viability.
During her battle, she quickly won the support and hearts of hundreds of strangers. A few of us she wore, like rings, wrapped tightly around her tiny fingers.
She is pictured here preparing for her first Christmas by putting on her festive stocking.
This is dedicated to military men women fighting to preserve freedom.
